The J&K livelihood mission Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood (JKRL) received the SKOCH award under the theme “State of Governance India 2047” in the Gold category, for their Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the Union Territory for their outstanding efforts in creating marketing avenues. As the form of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) which was implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, JKRLM’s mission statement includes reducing poverty in the U.T. by building strong grassroots institutions of the poor, engaging them in gainful livelihood interventions and ensuring appreciable improvement in their income on a sustainable basis.
