Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric project Recently, the GOI had provided 2,000 Mega Watt Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project located in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to India. This project is getting executed by NHPC Limited with the top level of Elevation Level (EL) 210 M which was executed by the Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh, where NHPC has informed that more than 90% of the total work of the project has already been completed. The construction of all major components, including Dam, Power House and Hydromechanical Works till date.

NHPC Limited began construction of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project in January 2005 after obtaining forest clearance on October 12, 2004. However, construction need to stop the construction from December 2011 to October 2019 as a sequence of local protests. The project construction resumed on October 15, 2019, following clearance by the National Green Tribunal. It is located partly in Assam and partly in Arunachal Pradesh, where the dam is located in the Dhemaji district of Assam, 2.3km away from Gerukamukh, while the powerhouse is located in the Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh will be expected to supply 2,000 MW of power when completed. The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric project is 116 m (381 ft) tall, measured from the river bed and 210 m (690 ft) from the deepest foundation with the length will be 284 m (932 ft) and with the structural volume of 2,250,000 m3 (2,942,889 cu yd). The dam’s reservoir storage has capacity of 1.37 km (1,110,677 acre⋅ft), of which .44 km3 (356,714 acre⋅ft) tp be used power generation or irrigation
